Hair Loss or Hair Fall Reasons

There are many reasons for hair fall for example after 3/4 months of recovery from a illness or major surgery, you may face huge hair loss. This hair loss is temporary and due to stress and illness.

Hair Loss may occur due to Genetic, It's inherited from one's family and is passed down through the generations.

Many women face hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This hari fall is related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some people face hair fall due to Hormonal problems too, if throid gland is over or under active, hair may start to fall. This type of hair loss can be stopped by treatment of thyroid problems. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones (known as androgen and estrogen) are out of balance. by correcting this imbalance may control hair fall

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, high blood pressure or heart problems, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.

Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.

Hair Styles for Different Types of Face

Hair style for triangular face

The best hairstyle for this shape face are those worn away from your face at your forehead and temples and softly waved or curled around the jaws or those worn full at your temples, with straight or waved bangs across the width of your forehead.

Hair style for an oval face

An oval face can be enhanced by a variety of simple hairstyles. Your hairstyle will be most pleasing, if you wear it straight or slightly wavy. Short or long styles will look best when brushed or held back from your face.

Hair Style for square face

A square jaw and brow are best softened by a curly or wavy hair style that rounds off the angles of your face. Curls or waves worn forward on the outer edges of your face from your forehead will be more suited for a square face.

Hair Style for Round face

A round face will look best with hairstyles that add angles and helps conceal broad, round cheeks. For persons who have short hair, it is better to have a cut with most of the hair on top and less on sides. For long hair, an hairstyle with curls or waves surrounding the face will be better.

Hair Transplant in Hyderabad India

What Is Hair Transplantion?
Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that involves moving individual hair follicles from one part of the body (the donor site) to bald or balding parts (the recipient site).

The Process of Hair Transplantation
Hair transplantation means, transplanting live hair roots onto the bald area.(RECIPIENT AREA). These transplanted hair roots behave in the same manner as the hair from the area where they are extracted. These transplanted hairs after growth can be cut or trimmed regularly. These can be shampooed or dyed if required. These hairs don’t require any medicines to maintain the growth as it occurs naturally and permanently. Even after complete shaving or tonsuring, these hairs will grow back and tend to do so for the rest of the life.

Transplanted hair roots should be bald resistant. And these bald resistant hair roots are usually present on the back or sides of the scalp (DONOR AREA).

The density of the hair depends on the number of grafts present per sq. cm. Each sq. cm area of normal scalp contains more than 80 follicular units. Hence, in the bald area, more the number of grafts transplanted the denser the appearance. More than 40 follicular units per sq. cm should be implanted to give the natural look. Transplanting around 40 FU s/sq. cm is not an easy task as it requires lot of technical skill. This particular skill of transplanting more number of grafts is called Dense Packing.

The process of transplantation is done in sessions if the area to be covered is more.. Transplanting more number of grafts at a single session can be termed as Mega and Super Mega sessions depending upon the number of grafts transplanted.

Prescreened Hair Restoration Physicians

Mega session means transplanting >2000 follicular units (3500 follicles in a single session and super mega session comprises of transplanting > 2,800 follicular units ( 5000). A session can be termed as Giga Session, if >5000 follicular units ( 8000 follicles) have been transplanted at one go.

All the above mentioned processes can be successful only in centers that have many surgical assistants who are well trained and adept at utilizing the latest equipments available, to their best.

Follicular unit transplantation can be done by two methods.F.U.T and F.U.E.

Follicular Unit Extraction FUE

It is not a solution for rectifying wide bald areas like Norwood VI or even IV. It is a good option for rectifying or covering smaller areas.

This method involves extracting single follicular units from the back portion of the scalp (donor area) and transplanting them on to bald area (recipient area). These follicels should be extracted from the permanent hair bearing zone only. Follicles which are extracted very near to the crown or mape of neck may go into baldness if the donor area is still susceptible for balding.

As this is a blind technique, it involves lot of wastage that may vary from 5-30% depending upon the case and donor hair characteristics. These follicles are extracted using a punch. There are several types of punches for extracting FU s but the sizes of punches are very important. Generally sizes less than 1mm are preferred.

Follicular Unit Hair Transplant FUT

FUT involves the removal of a strip of superficial layers of hair bearing scalp from the back and sides of the head (donor area). The strip is dissected into fine follicular units with the help of stereo microscopes and are transplanted on to the bald area (recipient area).

The main advantage of this method is to cover wider areas as it gives scope for obtaining more no. of grafts in a single session. If the donor area permits, one can transplant even up to 5000 follicular units (>8000 follicles) in a single session.

Centers that use stereo microscopes and mantis microscopes and also incorporate four hook method of dissection (open method) will have lesser chance of graft wastage (transection).

Although this method leaves a scar in the donor area, by virtue of the latest advancements in the technology, this can be minimized by a technique called tricophytic closure. This method helps in minimizing the scar which is almost invisible after some time and even new hair growth is seen through it in most of the patients.

Choose you perfect Hair Cut

How To Choose Your Perfect Hair Cut

By: frederic lampard

A good hair cut has the right proportions and includes all the basic elements of balance, line and movement. The cut should be manageable and the hair should look great in its natural form even before it is styled. Selecting a hair cut style means choosing from curly styles, layered hair cut, bobs, and bangs, among many options.

Choosing the right hair cut is part technique and part art. The first step in finding the right hair style always comes down to determining facial structure. Each face has its own unique structure. The shape of your face and head has a major role to play in the type of hair style you can wear best.

Knowing the shape of your face before you head to the salon will help you choose the right hair style and will help you to communicate better with your stylist. Once you know your face shape, all you need is some hair style idea and inspiration. However there are probably more than 100 hair styles that can suit your particular face. In order to narrow down your choices and find the best and the most suitable hair styles for you and your lifestyle, you need to consider a hair consultation.

The best way to test any hair style is to do it before getting the cut, by getting new hair cut ideas using virtual hair styling or imaging software. Imaging software allows you to test a new hair cut style -and even a variety of hair colors - without spending a fortune on hairdressers and hair care products. It’s the only way to try out a short hair cut style before the first snip is made!

There are online tools that provide the ability to view your photo with different hair styles and colors. Produce realistic results with short hair and formal hair styles. Virtual hair-styler has a unique ability to show your face with short celebrity hair styles.

Professional hair style magazines is another way to get new hair style ideas. Clip out the ones you like and bring them to your salon appointment.

The stylist can look at a picture and tell whether it will work for your hair. And remember that everyone’s hair is different. Try to be realistic about your hair and what your stylist can reasonably achieve with it. Always discuss your color, style selection and your lifestyle with your stylist; if they disagree with your request, they likely have a good reason.

How to ensure good hair growth

Good hair growth tips are always welcome to any fashion conscious person. Almost every person wishes to be looked good. And a healthy hair is a virtually inseparable part of the common perception of good looks.
Therefore it is natural that suggestions on quick hair growth have such a wide appeal in the human society.
Hair growth tips for a quick hair growth
Adequate protein intake – Protein contains amino acids essential for building new cells including hair.
The five amino acids of particular relevance to hair growth are – Cysteine, cysteine, methionine, arginine and lysine.
The best sources of dietary protein include lean meats, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, soy, nuts, grains and seeds.
Adequate intake of useful carbohydrates – Carbohydrates are an essential source of energy. And it helps in the growth of body tissues including hair. Carbohydrates are a prominent source of Vitamin B, which are crucial for healthy hair.
It is important to concentrate on consuming non-refined carbohydrates rather than the sugars and white flour that are so prevalent in many over-refined carbohydrate products. Emphasis should be on consuming vegetables, fruits, whole grains, brown rice and potatoes.
Have a healthy balance of dietary fats
Fat results into energy production. Adequate fat helps to maintain good health including good hair. One can obtain adequate fat from a mixture of lean animal and plant sources.
Avoid junk food – Living on junk food will make you have junk hair. Why? Because for the time you will be ill, your body will be diverting energy from you hair and nails in order to facilitate the healing process elsewhere.
Get a hair cut every 6 – 8 weeks – Having a hair cut every 6-8 weeks will help avoid split ends. And it will also enable the barber/hairdresser, etc. to alert you about any sudden change in the hair condition.
Use hair conditioner in the proper way – How will you do it? Simple. Leave conditioner in your hair for at least 2-3 minutes. Many people wash off the conditioner straight away after using it. And the conditioner does not get enough time to do its job.
Use a rake-type comb – Using a rake-type comb is the best option. Start combing at the bottom by dividing your hair into sections. And work upwards from there. Avoid using brush on a wet hair. This is because wet hair is very pliable and easily breakable.
In all probability you will find the above mentioned hair growth information helpful. Don’t forget the appeal that a healthy hair adds to your personality. So be protective of this asset. And maintain it properly. Good luck!

Natural Hair Care

The effectiveness of modern, natural hair care products is known to all, because they are very effective in reducing hair loss and enhancing hair beauty. They are also perceived as being free from side effects and may deliver additional health benefits.
Balanced diets rich in vitamins and minerals are a must for hair health. In this regard, natural products are receiving increased recognition after years of neglect. Natural hair care products have become popular for both external and internal use. Besides, they have less chance of causing over-treatment and they rarely over-dry or over-condition your hair.Using the right hair care and beauty products is essential for the look and health of your hair.
But, the problem with natural hair care products is that you may find it difficult to choose one that is appropriate for you and your hair. Most of the products available in the market today, bear a “Natural” label, whether genuine or fake making it harder to find a good natural hair care product.
Four types of products make a medley of hair care items. The four basic natural hair care products are: hair cleansing products, hair conditioners, hair remedies and hair nutrition products.
What Are Natural Hair Care Products?
Not all natural hair care products all natural. Products available in salons and over store counters are never 100% natural, because, for better results and preservation issues, they need to contain a certain amount of synthetic ingredients. The synthetic products can also provide better foaming, cleaning and emulsifying than 100% natural products. However, you can prepare some home made hair care products that are absolutely natural.
You might have come across some organic hair growth products and equaled that with natural hair growth products. However, they are different. Organic does not mean natural. You can prepare organic products synthetically and those products are not always safe, gentle and effective.
Some Natural Hair Care Products:
Nettle Root Extract: It is rich in vitamins A and C, it is used as an inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase.
Saw Palmetto Extract: It is an effective anti-androgen and fights benign prostatic disease by lowering levels of DHT. That’s why it is good for the people in androgenetic alopecia.
Rosemary and Sage: These are very good natural hair enhancers. Boil together in water rosemary, sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock and use in the hair. This will strengthen your hair.
Jojoba Oil: It keeps your scalp healthy and free from skin diseases. It controls dandruff. Jojoba oil is also a great moisturizer for your hair.
Aloe Vera: It balances the pH level of scalp and heals by cleaning the pores. Shampoo made up of aloe vera gel with a small amount of wheat germ oil and coconut milk is a great hair enhancer. Henna: Henna is a popular natural hair conditioner and hair coloring product. It is excellent for the maintenance of healthy hair. It protects hair against breakage and restores hair shine.
Psyllium husk: Psyllium husk works as a laxative agent, it safely move waste through the colon. And makes your digestive system clean healthy, which is necessary for better hair health.

New Apple-Derived Treatment Improves Hair Growth Without Side Effects

Japanese researchers have discovered a substance from apples, apple polyphenols or procyanidin B-2, that is effective for regrowing hair. After studying over 1,000 botanical extracts and conducting clinical trials with double-blind studies, the results were quite conclusive.
Of all the substances tested, only two showed positive results. One comes from chardonnay grapes, called proanthocyanidin, and the other from apples, procyanidin B-2. It was this product from apples that was the most effective.
* 78.9% of subjects showed an increase mean value of hair diameter.
* The number of terminal hairs and total hairs was "signficantly increased" compared to the control group.*
The research team concluded that "topical proycanidin B-2 is safe and effective in curing male pattern baldness.
"The product has been studied worldwide. One study discovered that procyanidin B-2 nearly doubled the hair growth of minoxidil (Rogaine). The conclusions of another study state, "Procyanidin B-2 shows promise as a cure for male pattern baldness."
"More important perhaps is the absence of harmful side effects. In over 80 studies, no side effects have been observed. We've all heard about the benefits of an apple a day, but who knew that apples would also grow hair?
Procyanidin B-2 blocks the production of TGF Beta, a degraded form of DHT. It is actually this TGF Beta that causes the hair follice to shrink and the hair to fall out. TGF Beta is not needed in sexual function. This makes procyanidin B-2 a safe solution for hair loss without the sexual side effects that can occur with other products.
Let's look at the scientific studies further to better understand what makes procyanidin B-2 so different. The prestigious British Journal of Dermatology concluded that procyanidin B-2 acts to diminish protein kinase C isozymes. These are important in the hair growth cylce.
Your hair follices actually have three cycles: anagen (the active growth phase), telogen (the resting phase), and catagen (the shedding phase). Ideally, you want to prolong the anagen or growth phase and shorten the resting phase. This is was reported in the British Journal of Dermatology. The end result, of course, is increased hair growth.
Up to now the only documented methods to combat hair loss have been minoxidil (Rogaine) and Propecia. Unfortunately, they have a range of unpleasant side effects, including sexual dysfunction. Minoxidil was originally developed as a blood pressure medicine. The product is still absorbed in the body even though applied topically into the scalp.
There are a number of so-called natural treatments, some of which actually contain minoxidil. Unfortunately, many have no proof other than anecdotal claims.
Tsukuba Research Laboratories in Japan conducted a new study that is important. They did a 12 month clinical trial, and several conclusions should be noted.
* No side effects were observed in any subjects.
* After 12 months of use, 71% of the subject showed an increased number of hairs in the designated scalp area relative to pre-trial measurements.
* Procyanidin therapy shows promise as a potential cure for male pattern baldness. Finally there is an option for those who want a proven substance to grow hair and without side effects.

Do You Know These Baldness Treatments?

The beauty of the face is enhanced by the crowning glory of the person, i.e. the hair. Hair not only gives the face its essential beauty, but it also provides the face with a definitive look. For this reason, falling hair is considered to be a severe problem in people of all ages.

Human hairs grow and fall – that’s a very normal growing process. But in some people the rate at which hair falls is much greater than the rate at which it grows. If hair falls from the follicles, i.e. the hair roots, then the chances that it will grow back again from that point are almost zero. The result is that the person becomes bald. In the medical world, this condition is called as alopecia.

Alopecia could be local or general. In local baldness, the person loses hair only from certain parts of the body. But in general alopecia, hair may be lost from almost everywhere that it grows on the human body.

When baldness is to a manageable extent, it is called as Indra lupta in Ayurveda. But hair loss that is severe, resulting in total baldness, it is called as khalitya. Baldness is caused due to mental worry, anxiety and anger. If strong emotions are displayed often, chances are that the person may lose his/her hair. This is the prime cause of Indra lupta in Ayurveda. Another major reason for falling hair is excessive dandruff on the scalp.

(1) Useful Herbs in the Treatment of Baldness

® Alfalfa (Medicago satina)

Alfalfa helps in strengthening the roots of the hair. As a result, not only is the hair fall stopped, but the hair also grows longer.

® Ash Gourd (Benincasa hispida)

Ash gourd helps to combat against dandruff, which is a major cause of hair loss in young people. It also removes excessive dryness of the scalp so that it becomes moist enough for the proper growth of hair.

® Curry leaves (Murraya koenigi)

Curry leaves help in nourishing the hair at the roots. Hair grows luxuriantly. Since curry leaves also work on the pigments that give the hair its color, its use can prevent the premature graying of the hair.

® Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum)

Fenugreek seeds have very beneficial properties in the eradication of dandruff which causes hair loss.

® Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)

Rosemary helps in preventing dandruff and premature hair fall.

(2) Dietary Treatments for Baldness

® Hair is composed of keratin, which is a protein. Hence, hair grows better when the diet is rich in proteins. Make eggs, meat, fish, ghee, butter and milk a regular part of the diet.

® Prepare a soup of alfalfa, lettuce and carrot. This juice contains all the elements that are needed for the proper growth and maintenance of hair.

® Curry leaves must be liberally used in the diet. They can be crushed and taken along with buttermilk

(3) Ayurvedic Treatments for Baldness

® The main medication used for alopecia in Ayurveda is the Bhringaraja. It can be used in the form of its oil, which is available in Maha Bhringaraja and Nilibhringadi. Ayurvedic doctors claim that applying these oils on the scalp and hair an hour before a daily bath will be beneficial. The application should be done like a massage during which the weak hair will fall out first. This application will make the hair thinner in the beginning, but it will grow better later on. Some doctors claim that shaving the head completely and then applying these oils provide the best results

® If the baldness has set in from a very young age, then Ashwakanchuki rasa is used. This is applied on the head in the afternoon and is allowed to dry up in the sun’s heat if possible. The oil should be kept overnight and washed only the next day. However this method is not liked by many people as it can cause irritation on the skull and redness of the scalp

(4) Home Medications

® Moisten the seeds of fenugreek in water until they become soft. These are then ground into a paste which is applied onto the hair. After leaving it on the hair for about an hour, it should be washed with soap nut. Regular treatment of this kind will eradicate the dandruff and prevent hair fall.

® While having a bath, use a lotion of rosemary branches boiled in water for half an hour as the final rinse on the hair. Let it remain on the hair for about five minutes before drying it off completely.

® Prepare a mixture of honey and lemon juice. Massage this on the scalp and wash it off after half an hour. This will not only prevent hair loss, it will also stop other problems such as dandruff, lice and excessive dryness of hair

® Mix some lemon juice with amalaki (Indian gooseberry) extract. Apply this on the roots of the hair. It shows good results.

Female Pattern Hair Loss: What Causes Hair Loss In Women?

There exists a widespread connotation that hair loss is greatly prevalent among males. But this connotation could be defied with the fact that even a good number of women suffer from hair loss. Although it's not that easy to ascertain exact causes of hair loss among women there are two or three popular reasons attributed to hair loss among them.
Despite widespread hair loss among women, very rarely they happen to be bald. Even women don't show complete disappearance of hairs from one particular part of scalp that usually happens with males. A woman normally experiences evenly distributed hair loss from scalp that means hairs fall from all parts of scalps, most likely in equal proportion.

Some of the common causes of female hair loss are:
Androgenetic Alopacea
It is a phenomenon inside the female body in which testosterone (male hormone), which is present in women in dormant state, undergoes chemical reactions to form DHT. This DHT affects hair follicles, their normal functioning, hair regeneration and growth, resulting in hair loss and female baldness in the later stages. However female hormones resist its effect to prevent complete baldness.
Alopacea Areata
It is an uneven type of hair loss that may be due to various deficiencies in the body. These deficiencies could be due to lesser intake of required nutrients and vitamins. As less than required intake of essential body minerals and vitamins weakens immune system. With a weakened immune system hair follicles are less likely to fight with disrupting factors giving a way to temporary follicle dysfunction. It in turn results in hair loss.
Telogen Effluvium
This is a condition in which women suffer hair loss due to unexpected shock or stress and extreme emotional imbalances. Usually an unanticipated stress situation gives way to short term depression that adversely affects hair. In that period sharp hair loss is witnessed. Most often women conceiving baby for the first time experiences this type of hair fall. A woman fired from work place or divorce could be other reasons of Telogen Effluvium.
These three are primary reasons of hair loss in women. Apart from that a woman may experience hair loss due to genetic causes as well as some medications may also result in hair loss as a side effect.
